There is expected to be a shortage of pollock fillets in the coming months. Catch levels off North America and Russia are reporting large quantities of smaller fish with the majority being under 4oz. These are likely to be used in the premium markets and this will lead to a shortage of single frozen fillets above 4 oz.
China processors are also restricting volumes of double frozen blocks so there is likely to be a shortage of fillets and higher prices even for blocks.
